William’s Story

William came to the shelter after several bad turns in his life. He was a recovering alcoholic without a plan to move ahead. During his interview to enter the shelter he shared that he was a Christian but had allowed the bad influences in his life to move him away from “following the good book and Jesus “. William had many solid conversations with the different shelter staff and serve team members. He became successfully employed and the empowerment from that gave him even stronger commitment. He decided to accelerate his goals by taking a second job. William successfully moved into independent housing about a month later.
